Saint Michel Island in Erquy

Erquy, sur les Côtes d’Armor en Bretagne, possède un îlot accessible à pied à marée basse. La légende locale parlait d’un trésor caché dans la chapelle, perdu lors d’une tempête. Que ce soit vu du ciel ou des plages d’Erquy cet îlot avec sa jolie petite chapelle est superbe et reste à découvrir.

Erquy, on the Côtes d’Armor in Brittany, has an islet accessible on foot at low tide. The local legend spoke of a treasure hidden in the chapel, lost during a storm. Whether seen from the sky or from the beaches of Erquy this islet with its pretty little chapel is superb and remains to be discovered.

A Martigues sur la côte Bleue à l’entrée de la baie de Marseille. Après les feux de cet été.

Une année sépare les deux photos. Quelques heures pour dévaster la forêt, des décennies pour la reconstituer.

Feux de forêt en Provence, toujours

Cette année encore les feux ont ravagés des forêts en Provence et en particulier dans les Bouches du Rhône attisés par le Mistral. A Martigues le feu est arrivé jusqu’au bord de mer et la magnifique Côte Bleue a été dévisagée.

Once again this year, fires have ravaged forests in Provence and in particular in the Bouches du Rhône, which are fuelled by the Mistral. In Martigues the fire reached the seaside and the magnificent Blue Coast was damaged.

Au moyen âge la protection des villes était faite de hautes murailles qui ceinturaient les habitations. A Guérande c’est 1,43 km de remparts qui protègent la cité Médiévale ! La cité de Guérande est une des rares à avoir conservé l’intégralité de ses remparts. A découvrir et visiter, c’est en Loire Atlantique mais à l’origine c’est une cité Bretonne.

In the Middle Ages the protection of the cities was made of high walls that would surround the dwellings. In Guérande it is 1.43 km of ramparts that protect the medieval city! The city of Guérande is one of the few to have preserved all its ramparts. To discover and visit, it is in the Loire Atlantique but originally it’s a Breton city.

L’île Dumet à quelques encablures de Piriac Sur Mer en Loire Atlantique, mais en territoire Breton, proche de l’entrée du Golfe du Morbihan. C’est une petite île peu connue et classée zone naturelle pour protéger les oiseaux.

Dumet Island, a short distance from Piriac Sur Mer in the Loire Atlantique, but in Breton territory, near the entrance of the Gulf of Morbihan. It’s a small island relatively unknown and classified as a natural area to protect birds.

Le phare de Ploumanac’h ou phare de Mean ruz sur la côte de Granite rose, c’est à Perros-Guirrec en Bretagne sur les Côtes d’Armor et c’est à découvrir.

Mean ruz ou pierre rouge en Breton vient de sa construction en granite rose.

Le phare actuel date de 1948 mais le premier phare est beaucoup plus ancien, puisqu’il date de 1860, il a été reconstruit après sa destruction en 1944.
